Girl Scout Troop 976 bridged from Juniors to Cadettes in a ceremony
on Sunday, May 4. The troop – which includes, above from left,
Elise, Rachel, Caitlin, Meera, Sydney and Crystal – was awarded the
President’s Volunteer Service Bronze Award for over 450 hours of community
service in 2007. The troop also honored three of its Girl Scout volunteers.
Elise Peterson received the Girl Scout Bronze Award for her community service
project, which helped Oakland’s Children’s Hospital. Three of the girls
also received individual volunteer service awards for their personal volunteer
service hours. Caitlin Listek of Oakley received the Presidential Volunteer
Service Bronze Award for accumulating over 50 hours of community service
in 2007, and Rachel Kennealy and Elise Peterson, both of Brentwood, each
received the Gold Award for 100-plus hours of community service.
