Grad Night
Bunco bash
When Heritage High School’s fi rstever
graduating class leaves the platform
on commencement day, diplomas fi rmly
in hand, those seniors’ fi rst order of business
will be to celebrate. In order for that
celebration to be safe and sober, a Grad
Night extravaganza has been planned
that will feature a profusion of good eats
and drinks, music, games – you name it
– to provide the grads with a ton of fun
in a secure environment.
But Grad Night doesn’t happen all
by itself. It takes the long, hard work of
the Heritage Grad Night Committee –
and it takes money. “Most people don’t
realize that Grad Night committees do
not receive funds from the high school
district’s general fund,” said Kelli Nunn.
“All funds are raised privately – this
is a daunting task. Despite several years
of hard work, we have not reached the
fundraising goal at Heritage. Reaching
the goal is crucial because we want to be
able to produce a Grad Night similar to
those at Liberty and Freedom, and we
want to leave some money for next year’s
committee.”
To make Grad Night happen, the
committee is inviting the community to
a Bodacious Bunco Buffet fundraiser on
Saturday, May 10 from 7 to 10 p.m. The
bodacity takes place at the Deer Ridge
Golf Club, 801 Foothill Drive in Brentwood.
The adults-only affair costs $30
per person; $50 per couple, and includes
an appetizer buffet, a no-host bar, raffl e
and silent auction.
Come by yourself or bring a group
of friends for this evening of food, fun
and fellowship to help Heritage’s fi rst
graduating class celebrate in style. For
information, call 925-628-8168.
