Muscle up in Antioch
On a day when heat ripples rose
from the asphalt and the temperature
soared to near 90, it was clear that the
coolest place to be was at the grand
opening of Max Muscle of Brentwood/
Antioch. Nearly 1,000 folks from the
East County community came out last
Saturday to sample the new store’s
nutritional supplements, hear live
performances by local artists GA, The
Main Attraction and Soldiers of Christ,
and test their strength at the pull-up
and tire-pull competition supervised by
members of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Also on hand were actor and
former Mr. Universe Gunther Schlierkamp;
fi tness model and 2007 Ms.
Mixed Martial Arts Gloria Sommer;
and former Kansas City Chiefs and Seattle
Seahawks safety Shaunard Harts.
