The Pro-Am, which attracted about
500 guests and spectators, raised about
$1,000 for local charities such as the Police
Activities League. It also gave the local
economy a boost: between 150 and
160 people stayed in Brentwood and gave
Harvest Park Bowl some recognition, according
to Wangeman.
For PBA professional Don Sylvia,
last Sunday’s event served as a homecoming
for the nine-year Discovery Bay

Northern California Senior Classic, Sylvia
was glad to be home. “This is a great
place to be,” Sylvia said Sunday. “I have a
lot of good memories, but I hope to have
one more.”

Northern California Senior Classic began
Monday and ran through Wednesday
night, after the Press went to print.

“Absolutely. We’re going to have to
keep defending our title,” said Krahnke.
“Every year it gets harder and harder
– this year they were gunning for us
and we had to play a really tough Santa
Cruz team in the fi nals, but we won it.”
