Play Day tribute
Do you remember when you went to the park
and just played? When you played on the monkey
bars or swings, assembled impromptu games of
kickball or relay races, or just relaxed under a tree?
Well, do it again at the city of Brentwood Parks
and Recreation Department’s fi rst-ever Play Day
event on Friday, July 25, from 4 to 6 p.m. at City
Park.
The free event will offer a variety of fun activities
for all ages, including sack races, bubbles, relay
races and tug-of-war.
Participants are encouraged to bring lawn
chairs and picnic dinners and stay after the Play
Day for the free Starry Nights concert, featuring
the Summerset Big Band at 7 p.m. in City Park.
The concert will be a tribute to Bruce Stuart, the
Brentwood Community Band founder who died
suddenly on June 24. For additional information,
call 925-516-5444.
