Caring Cremation & Funeral Services
By Clint Love
“What consumers should be asking their funeral home
or cremation society about their cremation provider.”
There is a great amount of trust
involved when selecting a funeral home
or cremation society when a family has
chosen them to handle final arrangements
for disposition, especially, when
it involves cremation for their loved one.
Prior to choosing a firm, we recommend
that you should ask the following questions.
Do they own and operate their
crematory?
Today, most facilities do not. They are
using a third party crematory to subcontract
this service out. By doing this one
tends to loose control over the process of
the loved one.
Where is it located?
A family is entitles to know where their
loved one is at all times.
Is the crematory available to the
general public for a scheduled tour?
This is very important. Families should

be entitled to feel a comfort level of
where their loved one is being sheltered
at all times.
Are the licenses and permits current?
You should ask to see the licenses and
permits to make sure that they are current.
Are all operators certified?
All associates performing the cremations
should be certified and be able to
have their credentials in public view for
the families at the crematory.
It is very important to ask questions
similar to these and feel satisfied with the
answers you receive. If your provider is
unwilling to provide you with any documents
or answers you should immediately
find a provider that will.
