acoustic surf rock at the Starry Nights free concert

the blues sounds of local band Madman from

Family Summer Concerts
The Arts and Cultural Foundation of Antioch is
sponsoring two free concerts in one night at
Prewett Family Water Park, 4701 Lone Tree Way.
Bingo Schmingo, a singing/learning group for
children, will perform from 6-6:45 p.m. Harvey
& the Wallbangers will take over from 7-9 p.m.

Liberty High School and Best Buy in Brentwood
are presenting Battle of the Rock Bands from
7-9 p.m. at the Brentwood Best Buy. Tickets
are $10 per person. The competition includes
easy and hard brackets, and all proceeds go to

Community Assistance Day
Block Party
All are invited and everything is absolutely free at
this one-of-a-kind block party, held from noon-3
p.m. at 1700 A St. in Antioch. Live music, dancers,
rappers and a health fair are just some of the fun
festivities featured at this family event. No contact

Thursday, Aug. 21
Nunn/Wilson Children’s Benefit
A benefit for the Nunn/Wilson children
will be held at Tommy T’s Comedy Club in
Pleasanton. Showtime is 7:30 p.m., preceded
by an auction at 7 p.m. Comics Bobbo, Mark
Curry and Denny Johnston will be performing
for this worthy cause. All proceeds go to the
Nunn/Wilson children, whose parents were
killed in an airplane crash last month. For

Historical Society & Museum
The East Contra Costa Historical Society &
