Ryan Dutt. The Patriot defense allowed just
one score. Darrel LaChapelle started the day
with a fumble recovery on the Eagles’ second
play that led to the North’s fi rst score. Ryan
Wolter and Justice Jackson made multiple
solo tackles behind the line of scrimmage,
climaxing with a monstrous sack by Justin
Warner, Nick Hahn and Austin Sharp to end
the game.
Rookies Division
Patriots North 19, Jr. Eagles 0
Powerful offense and stifl ing defense
were on display as the Patriots North earned
the victory. Darrin Prieto found Hunter Soper
for an 18-yard touchdown pass in the second
quarter. Charles Johnson cut and weaved
his way to a huge 27-yard touchdown run.
Prieto’s bootleg left scored the extra point. A
Patriot drive early in the fourth quarter, led by
Cody Hoptry, was fi nished off by an impressive
gallop by running back Jahrell Lillard for
his fi rst touchdown of the season. The defense
allowed only two fi rst downs and caused two
turnovers. It was the second consecutive victory
for the Patriots North Rookies.
JV Division
Patriots North 14, Jr. Eagles 7
Marcus Zangai exploded for a 50-yard
touchdown run and Clark Butler punched in
the second Patriot touchdown from one yard
out. Trejon Edwards kicked an extra point
to put the Patriots up 14-7. Mark Tays and
Josh Jackson made key carries in the game.
The Patriot defense, led by Colton Selin, shut
down Modesto’s high-scoring offense. The
Patriots JV North remains undefeated (7-0).
On the following weekend, four Delta
Patriot teams emerged victorious against the
Hollister Cardinals.
Starts Division
Patriots West 39, Cardinals 6
Coach Mike Pedro changed the game
plan against the Cardinals, allowing his offense
to play defense and vice versa. The move
led to six offensive touchdowns. Devyn Douglass
scored twice, as did quarterback Sean
Bradley. Jacob Long, Paneau Aumua and
Hayden Foradoll enjoyed a big day, rushing
for multiple yards and key fi rst downs. The defense
held the Cardinals to negative yardage
and no points until the fourth quarter. Marcus
Dawal made some big tackles. The defensive
line, led by Tucker Fine, Roman Pedro, James
Telifo and Jason Robidu, stuffed the opposition.
Linebacker Josh Capps also made some
big plays, including an interception.

Patriots West 21, Cardinals 0
Jv Division
Patriots West 36, Cardinals 0
Defensive end Malichi Cheney blocked
a punt into the Cardinal end zone and fell on
it for a touchdown. Linebacker Austin Glynn
added a leaping interception and returned it
51 yards to the end zone. Quarterback Matt
Moser connected with tight end Tommy
Hoffman for a 51-yard scoring strike while
running back Eddie Martinez piled up 142
yards rushing and two touchdowns.
Varsity Division
Patriots West 28, Cardinals 6
Otto Tangitau, Ricky Ackerman
and Cody Suckow all contributed on the
ground. Carter Blaise scored from a pass
from Suckow.
