Letters from page 17A
moved to tears as she took the stage to say
a few words of thanks. Once again, we are
humbled and amazed at the generosity and
willingness of our communities to rally
around an individual in need.
Looks like we all raised over $10K to
help her get back on her feet.
There are too many of you to thank
here, but please know that we truly appreciate
each and every ounce of effort, donation,
raffl e prize, silent auction item, good
wish, friendly smile, story, tri-tip dinner, karaoke
singer, bucket of ice, band member,
PA engineer, emcee, setup person, cleanup
person, bookkeeper, ranch owner, Brentwood
Lions member, Oakley Delta Lions
member, Driftwood Yacht Club member,
Kiwanis Club member, security person,
ticket taker, beer pourer, server, well wisher,
man, woman and child that came to make
this an event never to be forgotten.
We love you all!
Thank you all!

Childish signage swipe
Editor:
If you can’t beat ’em, go out and
remove their signs. That took place years
ago in Discovery Bay; now it has returned.
It is very childish.
We cannot identify the person or
people responsible for doing this, but it

looks like people backing Guy Houston
did not agree with the sign.
It’s illegal (or against the law) to
destroy or remove these signs. I bring this
matter up so that voters can consider: what
type of person or group of people am I
voting for?
I’m not making an accusation; only
voicing my opinion.

Council members backing Agopian
Editor:
It is with careful consideration and
great hope for a break in the status quo
that Oakley City Council members Pat
Anderson, Kevin Romick, Vice Mayor
Carol Rios and Mayor Bruce Connelley
are giving our support for District 5 Supervisor
to Gary Agopian. He has taken the
time and effort to ascertain our thoughts
on local and regional issues, shared a
perspective on the representational responsibility
of a supervisor that is aligned with
our expectations, and has committed to
serving the entirety of his district equitably,
tirelessly, and with fairness. We believe his
leadership will bring a much-needed and
desired change in the way business is done
for the District 5 constituency.
