Plant Sale
Delta Informal Gardeners’ yearly Annual-
Perennial Plant Sale raises funds for community
plantings, scholarships for graduating
high school students and books for
the public library. The sale takes place on
Chestnut Street in Brentwood on Saturday,
May 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and features
free parking and free admission. For

Home Garden Tour
Discovery Bay Garden Club will host its
first Garden Tour on Saturday, May 10. All
proceeds will benefit the Byron Boys Ranch.
The tour starts at the ranch, 4491 Bixler
Road in Byron, at 11:30 a.m. Pick up tickets
and a map and continue at your leisure to
six additional properties. Enjoy a plant sale,
garden art and refreshments at the ranch.

Mother’s Day Brunch and Fashion
Show
The Eskaton Lodge, 450 John Muir Parkway
in Brentwood will host a brunch and
fashion show from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30
p.m. Admission is $14 for adults; $10 for
kids 8 to 12; free for kids 7 and younger.

Nutrition and Cancer Treatment

The Contra Costa County Library will hold
its first-ever countywide Reading Festival
from Friday, May 16 through Sunday, May
18. The festival celebrates the importance
of reading and libraries by bringing 50
authors into 25 community libraries for a
weekend of free and fun programs. Visit

Garden Tour
The GFWC Woman’s Club of Antioch and
the Antioch Rivertown Garden Club will
host a Garden Tour on Sunday, May 18

Second St., both in Antioch. The tour
will visit eight gardens plus a drive-by
of four civic gardens. This is a great
