Meet the County Fair’s new directors
Seven new directors have been selected to serve on
the board of the Contra Costa County Fair. The Fair
Association’s nine board members oversee the operations
of the Contra Costa County Fairgrounds, which
receives more than 250,000 visitors each year.
The appointees are:
Antioch resident Byron Parsons, formerly a senior
buyer for E.I. DuPont de Nemours, has served on
the board of directors since 2001 and currently
serves as president, as the chair of the
East Contra Costa Transit Authority
Board of Directors, and is a
member of Kiwanis Club of
the Delta-Antioch and charter
member of the Antioch
Historical Society. Parsons is
also the past president of the
Antioch Chamber of Commerce
and a former mayor
of Antioch.
Steven Limrite of
Concord has served on the
board of directors since 2001 and has
worked as a county fi re district dispatcher, sheriff’s
supervising dispatcher, sheriff’s dispatcher, call taker
and reserve sheriff’s deputy. He is a member of the
Cal-Western Appaloosa Show Horse Association,
Incorporated Board of Directors and the Ewa-Tom-
Likhim Appaloosa Horse Club Board of Directors.
Pleasant Hill resident Louis Mangini, owner of
Mangini Farms, has served on the board of directors
since 1983. He is a member of the Contra Costa County
Sheriff’s Posse Executive Board of Directors and
the Pleasant Hill Chamber of Commerce, and serves

manager and director of federal
programs for Shaw Environmental
and Infrastructure,
was a senior vice
president for Inner City
Fund Kaiser International,
Inc., and was general
manager and director of
government programs for
International Technology,
Inc.
Martinez resident Lynette Tanner-Busby has
served on the board of directors since 1996. She was
the executive director for the Contra Costa Centre Association
and a community relations director for TCI
Cable. Tanner-Busby is a member of the Contra Costa
Taxpayers Association, the Contra Costa Council,
the Martinez Planning Commission, the John Muir
Health Women’s Group, and is chair of the Contra
Costa Centre Area Municipal Advisory Council.
