Alumni Baseball
The 2008 Antioch High School Varsity
Baseball team will host a game against
players from the 1981-2007 era on
Saturday, May 3 at 1:15 p.m. at Antioch
High’s Sal Siino Field. A JV game including
Panther alumni from the 1950-1980 era will
begin at 9:30 a.m. The $25 participation
fee includes the game, alumni T-shirt and a
tri-tip lunch. All proceeds benefit Panther
baseball programs. For more information,

Tennis Tournament
Women’s and men’s singles and doubles,
plus boys and girls junior singles of all
levels are welcome at the Heritage High
School tennis courts on Saturday, May 3.

Child’s Day, Book Day
Come celebrate child literacy with magic,
music, crafts and a visit from a police dog
on Saturday, May 3 from noon to 4 p.m.

Snake Talk
Enjoy an up-close and personal visit with
our resident gopher snake and learn how
snakes are adapted to the habitats of Black
Diamond Mines Regional Preserve. Snake
Talk takes place Saturday, May 3 from 2
to 4 p.m. The preserve is located at 5175
Somersville Road in Antioch. A fee of $3 is

Morgan Territory Preserve
See wildflowers, learn about plants, animals
and how Native Americans used the
land, all on a 5-mile hike guided by biologist
Jim Hale. Two hikes are scheduled: one
for Saturday, May 3; the other for Sunday,
May 18. The May 3 event is oriented for
youth and scout groups. Both hikes run
from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Registration is limited

Relay For Life of Brentwood
A special invitation is offered to all cancer
survivors, caregivers and hospice workers
to come out to the Relay For Life of
Brentwood’s Ice Cream Social on Sunday,
May 4 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Summerset IV
Clubhouse, 770 Centennial Place. Cancer
patients and survivors can also pre-register
at the social for the fourth annual Relay For
Life of Brentwood event. For more information

2700 E. Leland Road in Pittsburg. Over 80
employers are expected to be on hand. Dress

Society/Sports Legends
The Antioch Sports Legends Committee
meets the first Wednesday of the month at

Alzheimer’s Caregivers Support
This group is open to any member of the
community caring for or who knows someone
caring for a person with Alzheimer’s
disease or related dementia. There is no fee
to join or reservations required. The group
meets the second Thursday of the month at

8 will be focused on Financial Planning and

the first-ever countywide Reading Festival
from Friday, May 16 through Sunday, May
18. The festival celebrates the importance of
reading and libraries by bringing 50 authors
