When hair stylists Maria Chavoya,
Cuca Diaz and Pat Perez decided to
open their own Brentwood salon three
years ago, they did so with an investment
and a prayer.
Although they had experience
running a business, having worked in
management at another local salon,
none knew exactly what went into
owning a full-service salon. But with
determination, hope and an extremely
loyal customer base, they forged ahead.
Today, Trio’s Salon continues to stay
ahead of the trends, providing quality
services in a friendly atmosphere.
“We have a lot of fun working
together,” Chavoya said. “A lot of hard
work goes into running a business, but
it helps that there are three of us to split
the responsibility.”
The salon’s four stylists make an effort
to stay current with new techniques
in cuts, color and up do’s by regularly
attending industry classes and seminars.
Diaz said the reason they opted to leave
their former salon and open their own
business was to gain more of an opportunity
to experiment with color.
“Since we do so much color, we’re
always going to classes and hair shows
to learn new things,” Diaz said. “It’s a
lot of fun for us but it’s also good for our
customers.”
In addition to cuts, color and styling
services, Trio’s offers a variety of facials
by a licensed esthetician. Prices range
from $55 to $85.
